Les Voorhis
Award winning nature photographer, Les Voorhis has been a professional nature photographer since 1990. After learning the ins and outs of the stock photography business as a Photo Editor and Image Library Manager for Stock Imagery in Denver, Co, he decided to put his skills to the test with his own work. With a degree in professional photography from Aurora Community College in Denver, CO he is familiar with many different levels of the photo industry.
Les' published images have appeared in magazines, advertising campaigns, packaging, calendars, web sites and books. Clients include, Bugle Magazine, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Forest Service, Colorado Outdoors, Game and Fish Publications, American Hunter Magazine, Pentax Corporation, Golden 411, Smith South-Western and several others.
Les is also a teacher, teaching photography classes and workshops for everyone from the rank beginner to the seasoned professional. He leads backcountry photography tours in cooperation with wilderness outfitters in some of the most remote sections of Colorado. He is on the staff of Photomigrations online photo magazine and writes a monthly educational photo article. He also writes and shoots for the Black Hills Pioneer, a daily newspaper in Northern South Dakota. Profotos.com selected him as a Top 100 Photographer in 2001.
